Howard University President Appoints Vice President of Student Affairs

Kenneth M. Holmes was appointed vice president of student affairs. In this role, Holmes will provide administrative leadership, vision and counsel to the Office of the Vice President and Division of Student Affairs, including the Office of Residence Life, the Office of Off-Campus Housing & Community Engagement, the Student Health Center, the Armour J. Blackburn University Center, the Office of Student Life & Activities, the Office of Student Services, University Counseling Services, and Intramural Sports and Recreational Activities. Holmes will join the University on February 29 and report to the Office of the President. Most recently, Holmes was assistant vice president and dean of students at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York, N.Y. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from Mercer University in Macon, Ga., and a Master of Arts in student personnel services/higher education from Northwestern State University of Louisiana in Natchitoches, La.
