Nine Army cadets and 11 Air Force cadets were honored in the first Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Joint Commissioning Address on May 5 in Cramton Auditorium. Previously, the two groups held separate ceremonies to transition from officer trainees to commissioned officers.

Gen. Mark A. Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, served as keynote speaker.

“In short, you are entering the military service at a very dynamic and important period of history,” said Milley, “and we absolutely need your innovation, your leadership and your competence – most importantly, your character.”
